Champagne A Fourtin Brut (Case of 6)
Producer
A Fourtin is a range of modestly-priced Champagnes from top sites in the Champagne region,... vinified by winemakers Laurent Vaillant and Christophe Pitois.
Vineyards
The Brut Non-Vintage is made from 60% Pinot Meunier, from the Vallee de la Marne, 35% Pinot Noir from the Cote des Bars and the remainder from Chardonnay grown in the villages of Nogent L‘Abbesse, Vert Toulon and Grauves. The vines are grown with the minimum use of chemical treatments possible.
Vinification
The grapes are whole-bunch pressed and then fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats. The wines are blended before being bottled and aged on lees for over 18 months before disgorgement and dosage of approximately 9 grams per litre of sugar.
Tasting Notes
This Champagne has a gentle golden colour and elegant aromas of citrus, toast and raspberries. The large percentage of Pinot has brought red berries and a succulent, fruit-driven core. The palate is refreshing with a touch of honey complexity and a long, fine-textured finish.
