Laurent-Perrier Brut Millésimé Champagne (Case of 6)
Producer
Laurent-Perrier was founded by Eugene Laurent in Tours-sur-Marne in 1812...
While they are known first and foremost for their Rosé, they are now one of the most highly-regarded Champagne houses due to the quality of the entire range, all vinified by winemaker Michel Fauconnet. This extends from the non-vintage Brut to the Vintage and the iconic Grand Siècle Brut, which competes with the very best that Champagne has to offer.
Vineyards
The Brut Millésimé is made exclusively from wines from the very best crus or villages. The most prestigious among them are: Verzy, Verzenay, Ambonnay and Tours-sur-Marne from the Montagne de Reims which provide the backbone and longevity from the Pinot Noir grapes, and le Mesnil, Cramant, Oger and Chouilly from the Côte des Blancs which contributes purity and elegance from Chardonnay.
Vinification
Only the cuvée (the best juice which is free-run only) is used. The wine is bottle-aged for at least seven years on its lees, and a very light dosage is used to allow the wine to reveal its true flavour and elegance.
Tasting Notes
Golden yellow colour, with green highlights with a steady stream of fine and persistent bubbles. The initial aroma is marked by an attractive fruity character which then evolves displaying notes of ripe fruits and acacia honey. The initial impressions on the palate are of vivacity and a fine mousse. As its character is gradually revealed, there is a sense of complexity, depth of flavour and a still-youthful freshness. The long finish is marked by persistent notes of yellow stone fruits.
