Good depth of colour with an intensely perfumed nose, aromas of chocolate and cinnamon-plums blend together with mulberries, red fruit and rose petals. On the palate, it has lovely blackberry and orange zest characters and a hint of cedar and spice. Great depth, ripe, rounded tannins and a solid structure with a lifted acidity on the finish.

A bouquet of dense but elegant red and black fruit is interspersed with dried flowers, orange zest, game, plums, spice and leather all contribute, but the pure, kirsch-flavoured fruit dominates the nose. Red fruits are layered on the palate with darker berries, together with a chalky minerality, firm acidity, and plenty of finely-tuned tannins. The finish is dark-fruit and focused.
