Vinification
Pressing after total destemming. Fermentation in stainless steel vat of 5 000 litres with pumping over system and temperature control to 28-30 Celsius.Maceration in contact with skins and cap (submerged) for 28 days. 4 to 6 months ageing in oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
A wine drinkers wine with a big character. It has a very strong ruby colour with a deep smell of spices, red berries, chocolate and slightly smoky. In the mouth it has various sensations and flavours with red fruit being the dominant taste. The well structured tannins and its complexity are a result of careful aging in oak barrels which also assists in its long finish. Previous vintages have won many awards including silver medals at the International Wine Challenge, silver at the Mondial de Bruxelles and silver at the Challenge du Vin.
