Finca Los Prados Chenin/Semillon
Producer
Our Argentinian house wines come from Bianchi’s Finca Los Prados...
Grapes are all grown on Bianchi’s own estate of 350 hectares in San Rafael, to the south of Mendoza city. The Prados wines are dual varietal, with the focus on varieties which particularly suit Mendoza’s dry, sunny climate to make a ripe, juicy style that has both elegance and freshness.
Vineyards
The grapes for this wine are grown on the Doña Elsa Estate, situated in Rama Caída, San Rafael, Mendoza at 750m above sea level. Rama Caída is among the coolest areas of San Rafael, with sandy calcareous soils of alluvial origin. Yields were 13 tonnes per hectare.
Vinification
Both varieties were picked by hand and after crushing the must was cooled and cold maceration took place before pressing. The lees were separated by cold settling and selected yeasts were inoculated for fermentation. After the final blend was complete, the wine was bottled to preserve the fresh fruit characters of the varietals.
